For those who complain about a few yrs of no support collection...keep in mind that sometimes these parents that are deadbeat, work under the table and or when filing ss/ssdi, they are in such poverty that they cannot be garnished. I myself, have received somewhere in the amounts of maybe $211.10 in now 27 yrs. I always found out where he worked, always reported it and nothing was done to the employer for not reporting and nothing done to the other parent. Arrears are now like 34k. What gets me is I am less than a yr behind, son is 19, living in my house and not only has it suddenly stopped me from trying to buy a house (mtg is cheaper than rent under usda) but they want to attach everything I own and they are still taking garnishments also. I asked why it seemed like they were coming at me so hard and the response is that many people will disappear owing just the last few thousand...really!!!! I have paid for 15 yrs and am almost done...Well I am glad to say that I will owe less than 1000 in just a few hrs and that the ex will have received 4k in this month alone. I even called to tell him so.
