Don't listen to any other review as a previous student there (who still visits regularly) I can tell you that there's a multitude of problems emerging from this run-down excuse of a High School. Where do I start? Well technically the school is so out of date that it should still be allowed to be a public school, but because were so sad we try to hide the fact that were poor by hyping up our mediocre (at best) sports teams. We make it seem like our gym isn't so bad by using all money the school has for a new sound system, go basketball!! Right? When the heaters barely work in the winter and the cooling is so spotty in the summer, what we really need is a sound system. On top of that, last year we hired some Spanish teacher who was a drug addict and let me tell you, I don't think I learned a thing in that class, but I don't need to KNOW Spanish, I just need the 2 years of it. Probably fine. The teachers over there are alright though, most of them care about you and genuinely want to help, but the staff is atrocious. The new principal doesn't really do anything, he sits in his office and yells at students while Mr. Searing dose all the ACTUAL work.
Story time!
One day while I was sitting in the office, waiting for lunch, I saw 2 girls walk into the office and say they wanted to talk to the principal about a serious issue. They sit down and I over hear what they're so upset about. They mention how a kid threatened to shoot up the school and while I'm listening to them, I get really anxious and worried because at this time in US history, that is completely possible. 15 minutes go by when the principal finally shows up. He takes the girls into his office and leaves the door open, but because they were farther away it became harder to hear them, but I distinctively remember him saying " Now it was obviously a joke, right?" but based on how the girls were acting, it didn't seem like it. It got to the point where I could've called the police just based on what I heard, but the principal never did anything about it, brushed it off as a joke because he didn't want to draw attention to the school.
ANYWAYS,
Most of the students there are disrespectful and rude and nobody does anything about it. Just today, some kid has his earbuds in, screaming swear words to a song he's listening to. Between classes, students just skip and hang in the commons. Some students wrote some very racist comments in the boys bathroom, with offensive drawings to match it. The schools a mess. I don't recommend anyone to move here or attend this school. People may say "But the community's great!" if by "great" they mean super sketchy, town full of unstable hicks with guns, then sure, its great!
