Extremely unprofessional and lacking in any sense of customer service.
I’d previously contacted Leslie for help with a simple job. We went over everything via phone and she let me know she’d moved to Vanguard.
Eventually Steven was added into our conversations. I answered every question he asked and provided everything he needed promptly via the portal on the website, which he and Leslie confirmed they’d received. I had to reiterate what I needed each time we corresponded; again, after I’d already explained everything to Leslie.
He provided no additional instructions and his reply indicated he hadn’t actually done the work he said he was doing. He also suddenly revealed that Leslie wasn’t working on my account all. He also had the audacity to frame our conversation like he was doing me a favor—I’m a (former) client and I don’t set the prices. If he’s only “breaking even” he needs to re-evaluate his pricing model.
I sent him documents via the site per the instructions on the site. Later he invited me to make a second account, sharing no instructions on what action I needed to take. In this different portal, there was no option to review any work that had been done or even review an invoice to pay. I had no instructions on what he needed from me at this point.
When I politely pointed this out and asked for clarity so we could move forward, he fired me as a client. I’m not able to read minds and I still have no idea what the hold-up was. Now, I’m left with the short end of the stick just weeks before taxes are due.
Take your money elsewhere. This accountant is as unprofessional and unreliable as it gets.
