Still trying to wrap our heads around how poorly we were treated at this shop.

We were quoted $900 for sound deadening, a new Alpine Amp and a new Sub Woofer - with five hours of labor. They finished in four, but then charged $950. We didn’t question that, but wish we had. When we got home and looked at the amp, it was very dirty, had wear marks on it, and was just so obviously not new that we took it back to the shop. When we questioned them about it they claimed that they accidentally put the demo model in. However, not only was it NOT the same amp, they didn’t even have a new one in the shop to install. Since we had lost confidence in their work, we asked to see the sound deadening. They explained how they deadened the back area by the spare tire and when we asked about the front floor and fire wall, which they charged us for and told us they had completed at the time we paid, this area had not been touched. Absolutely no work had been done in the front of the car! At this point they offered to “slap some in the front”, but we instead asked for a refund for the work that had not been done. They agreed to refund half the cost of the sound deadening, and then after calling them on the entire situation - taking advantage of women - they agreed to refund the entire sound deadening portion of the job. After paying $600 for an amplifier, subwoofer, and approximately two square feet of sound deadening. We felt the need to take it to a second shop to check the work, as we had lost all confidence in their ability and integrity. We called Soundsational and asked if we could just return the equipment. To their credit, they said they would give us a full refund and remove the equipment. Since we had absolutely no confidence in their workmanship at that point, we had another shop remove the equipment for us and returned it with no hassle. To install the amp and subwoofer they, without asking us, cut out pieces of the rear storage floor. This now has no structural integrity, and is a frustrating and permanent reminder of our mistake in hiring them to do the work. To charge someone for new parts and install used parts, to permanently alter a vehicle without permission, and to charge for work that wasn’t performed is unethical, unprofessional, and unconscionable. We highly recommend avoiding Soundsational.
