On August 30, 2017 – I went to the Jiffy Lube on 7th in Eugene, OR to get an oil change because the next day I was going to drive the car to Southern California. After 2 hours on the road the car was making unusual noises and the car started to run hot. I got off the freeway and bought a gallon of antifreeze. The attendant suggested I drive about 10 miles to the rest stop and check the car’s antifreeze level. The car did not cool so I took the car to Grants Pass to an independent automotive service shop when the service tech informed me that car did NOT have any oil because the drain plug was missing. I called Jiffy Lube immediately and they had me take the car to the Jiffy Lube in Grants Pass where they checked things out before the road trip to Southern California. An 11 - hour drive took almost 14 - hours because the car required stops every 2 - hours to cool off. Drove the car up the grapevine at 40 - miles an hour in the slow lane with the semi-trucks with the hazard lights and the heater on full blast in 109 degree temperatures. I spoke with the District Manager and he has stopped returning my phone calls. The back of the receipt indicates the “services and products will be free of defects in materials or workmanship for either three months or 3,000 miles of use”. A loose drain plug is a DEFECT in workmanship. I have contacted the Jiffy Lube International on the feedback form, but no response. No response from the 528 W. 7th Eugene, Oregon Jiffy Lube, no response from the District Manager so it is time to blast them on social media for not backing their warranty.
WARNING to all consumers STAY AWAY from Jiffy Lube unless you want to replace your engine.
