Chavinda Auto Sales

Followed a Craigslist ad to this place to look at a Honda Fit. Noted the car was non-smoking and had keyless entry according to the ad. When I arrived, one of the employees was spray painting a rusty grill brace for a SUV black on the lawn. I only saw a spray paint can - no primer, so it would obviously peel soon. Shoddy work. They got the keys for me and I noted there was a 2008 sticker in the window, but the VIN came back as a 2007. There were obvious cigarette burns in many if the seats and there was a slight smell of cigarettes covered by a mix of scents from multiple air fresheners - it was definitely smoked in. Also there was no keyless entry - the key was just a key, no buttons. It drove fairly well and was clean under the hood, but the answers I got to many of my questions were pretty vague or "I'm not sure." Now this isn't a large lot - maybe 30-40 cars, and he said the car had been there for 3+ weeks. Why wouldn't he know his own vehicles? A Carfax was not available even though I asked. I was shown a screenshot of a AutoCheck, but it was just the overview. So many things seemed way too sketchy about this place - poor spray paint jobs, wrong info posted about (and on) the car, and the salesman didn't know much about it and wouldn't provide a Carfax. I will note that the salesman was very nice and wasnt a jerk to me. I told him I wanted to get the car inspected before I would consider buying it, and they said they would have the shop across the street look at it. They also offered to help get keyless entry keys for the car. Obviously others are happy with their purchases and experience here. I decided to shop elsewhere.
