Picking up my car was great. The gentleman at the desk was helpful and friendly. Quite liked him and the car was perfect. I had the car for one night and dropped the keys in the dropbox before the office opened up. Big mistake, apparently. I went to check my credit card and I was charge 3 times the amount I was expecting. After calling an unhelpful customer service rep, I was informed that I had not returned the car until 3 days later. Notably, this was one day after I had left the country. Despite this, customer service was unwilling to compromise or help resolve the issue. He stonewalled me and said that unless I can prove I was out of the country, he won't change anything. Having a plane ticket and using my visa in another country wasn't good enough, though. According to this horrible excuse for a customer service representative, I needed a receipt from a restaurant or store in Toronto on the day in question to prove my whereabouts. The guy was accusing in his tone and completely unhelpful. I have never had such a horrible experience with a rental car company and I just can't believe that this happened. They screwed up and now I'm on the hook for it.
everything went great except for they charge for the fuel fee 13.99 without any notice. I read the details on the receipt and found that I just need to show the fuel receipt to avoid this fee, but the representative didn't even say anything!
